A Natural Home Cure for Mange Skin Allergies and Kills Fleas
87I Feel So Bad and They Look So Miserable
It Will Drive You Mad
Having a dog, cat, or pet with mange, skin allergies, or allergic to fleas will drive you mad. Whether your trying to find a natural home cure, or a vet that doesn’t charge $250.00 every time there is an outbreak it can also take a huge chuck out of your bank account.
I am writing this hub for all those that are in dire need of a solution that works every time and won’t break the bank It took me forever to find it myself, but after prescriptions to have another break out a month later, 20 mule Team Borax mixture, the vinegar tricks, and goodness knows how many others, and nothing was working. The real pistol was when my other rescue dog got it and then there were two to treat. Aahhhhhhhhh. In 55 years I've never had a dog with skin issues, mange or anything, I had no idea.
Then I tried coconut oil. I remembered a long time ago when I managed hotels I babysat for the owners dog which was an adorable little yorkie. When I was getting all the instructions I asked if she needed any flea products or other special care. He told me that because her skin was so naturally oily she rarely if ever got any fleas. I was in shock but it made sense. Mange mites, lice, fleas, etc, all hate oils because the oil suffocates and kills them. I had also heard the old burnt oil remedy. Please don’t ever do that.
Pretty Amazing Difference For Not Even a Week
It Worked Hallelujah
So being that I tried it and it worked, I tried it on myself for wrinkles and dry skin and it worked. Then I looked into the amazing amount of uses (including losing weight) that coconut oil helps or cures. I’m not going to go there because this is about my K9 buddies, and other pets
By the way what prompted me to write this hub was after reading some comments on a hub by one of my favorite writers and another one of her followers was having skin problems with her dog and costing a fortune at the vet.. Do yourself a favor and check it out you’ll love it. Just click on Man’s Best Friend.
OK so after trying a few spots to make sure it wasn’t going to irritate the crap out of them and send them running for the hills like Schreiners Herbal Solution (a fabulous product that is great for cuts, horse injuries, mange, etc) it just irritated their skin really bad and sent them both running to try and get it off. With the coconut oil they came running to me as if it was a treat or food. You could tell it gave them instant relief as they sat there almost begging for more. I usually pour some into a separate plastic cup so I don’t spill the whole container or they try to lick it out of the container which they will if you let them. I then pour a little on their back and spread it around and then some in my hand for the hard to reach areas. They will readily roll over to do their bellies and I make sure to get their ears and around their eyes, (not in their eyes just around them) They will love you for it and start licking there way to soothing relief. I almost always let them have about a tablespoon full to lick out of their bowl or other container It’s great for them.
It kills fleas, mites, soothes the skin, and gives them an amazing shiny coat.
Couple of warnings
Do Not lather your dog up with oil and put them out in 90 degree weather with no shade it will burn them up.
You will notice several bumps like puss pockets or pimple looking areas, don’t stop it’s just the anti fungal working and bringing it to the surface.
Don’t stop using it until they are 100 %, that way you know all the mites and eggs have hatched and are dead.
If you see areas that start up just break out the coconut oil and your good to go
Oh yeah fair warning the coconut oil gives you and them some extra energy so if your dog loves to play ball or fetch, be prepared You can tell they’re feeling better in just a day or two.
Puppies Puppies and More Skunks???
Looks Like Stinker the Skunk was Also Making Babies
That About Does It
As you can see the culprit who started this disaster just had pups which is another problem arising from the mange because they both needed to get better before the surgery. I didn’t post the before and afters for her because she is so black they didn’t turn out good. I’ll post some next week.
The video is of Stinkers wild baby skunk being a sweetie and having breakfast
So take a look what Amazon has to offer and if you want some more information on all the advantages of coconut oil check out the cheap book. I’m telling you once you cook with it you will never want to use anything else. I use the LouAna’s coconut oil (it is all natural and not hydrogenated) for my dogs, cooking, and sometimes me when I run out of the virgin oil shown below. You can check out my other hub for wrinkles at look younger for pennies.
Have an incredible day and give your pet a big old hug from yours truly. I’m telling you they are what keeps me sane, (well most of the time/OK part of the time) Talk to you soon.

Mange is such a horrid condition and the poor animals must suffer a great deal.
